Independent Tertiary Institutions

ITI Newsletter - December 2010

Good evening and welcome to the final newsletter of 2010 from Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI). ITI is a recognised peak industry body representing a diverse group of larger, high-quality private tertiary providers around New Zealand. Each month, we look to share some of the best stories from ITI members.

Natcoll has run its annual contest where students design short promotions for hip TV channel C4. The entries can be viewed by clicking the link below. In China, Media Design School students have taken the top student game prize at an awards ceremony described as the "Sundance of indie gaming."

Students from Whitecliffe College of Fine Arts and Design teamed up with local primary school children to bring some art and harmony into the community. It's an amazing collaboration. The New Zealand Career College has taken a big step towards delivering a new bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education after the Minister approved their application. Finally, students from New Zealand Management Academies ran a suite of events to raise money for the SPCA to help homeless animals - a cause very close to my heart.

As this is the last ITI Newsletter of 2010, I would like to this opportunity to thank everyone who reads this email each month. Seasonal greetings to you and your families.

Regards

Neil Miller
