Independent Tertiary Institutions

ITI Newsletter - September 2010

Good afternoon and welcome to the September 2010 newsletter from Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI).

Every month, we look to share some positive stories from our members and showcase our successful learners. ITI is a recognised peak body representing a diverse range of large, high-quality private tertiary education providers around New Zealand.

ITI wishes to send its best wishes to everyone affected professionally or personally by the devastating Canterbury earthquake and subsequent aftershocks. Several ITI providers were hit and were shut for several days. They all describe themselves as 'lucky' and reopened shortly after 4 September. Our thoughts go out to the people of Canterbury.

In this newsletter, the Media Design School is crowned the fourth best advertising school in the world based on their proven track record of developing young creative talent. In Manukau, the International Travel College (ITC) scoops two categories at the Business Excellence Awards continuing their great run at that event.

A recent Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design graduate has opened a boutique design shop in Saint Mary's Bay. New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) have launched a range of new hospitality diplomas which will allow learners to specialise in key areas and see their qualifications recognised around the world. Finally, a tutor at Natcoll Design Technology has won a global search to create a new music video.

Thank you for taking the time to read the September 2010 ITI Newsletter.

Regards

Neil Miller
